☢ We are planning to run a core-only mingling post sometime in the next week or two. Core players, please comment with what days would work best for you so we can schedule a good date for it.

☢ What this is leading up to is core-assigned missions for items. We'll have more info on this soon.

☢ We also want to strongly encourage core players to run tests! We would like for there to be at least one test a week if possible, and it can't be us running them every time. If you are nervous about test-running, talk to us. We are more than happy to help you figure out how to run a test or if an idea you have for one is feasible. However you do not need to ask us before claiming a date for a game. If it's clear on the calendar, go for it.

☢ On that note, let us know if you are a core player and need access to the calendar.

ETA: IMPORTANT THING THAT WE FORGOT! We've made a slight change to activity, which goes like this: ☢ During a month in which you are hiatused, your comment requirement goes down. If you hiatused for around one week, you must make 75 comments. If two weeks or more, 50 comments.

☢ The post for July is up and can be found here. There have been changes in activity rules for this month forward:

1. While you may use multiple threads to add up to the 100 comments required per month, we're going to start requiring a minimum of 5 comments from your character per thread, and a maximum of 20 threads. If you find yourself having trouble getting that just by tagging around, then consider running a post. Even a small post can net you about half the activity you'll need for the month.

2. If you have a lot of threads within one post, it's acceptable to just link to the entire post instead of each individual thread. Also, as a helpful tip: Google's browser, Chrome, counts instances of a ctrl+f search to help with comment counting if you want to make sure of your count for yourself.

☢ Test chambers have been opened for use as obstacle courses! This will be a permanent feature of the game to provide more interesting things for characters to do during downtime. There are areas open for use that do not require portal guns or longfall boots, so no one should feel limited by that. We do also plan on adding more features in the future to further assist with giving characters more to do outside of testing and events, but those will take a little more planning for us to implement.

☢ We've had a few drops now, so we wanted to talk about when we're planning to reopen the apps! Ideally we'd like to have open slots on several teams before doing so, so we can try to match characters up with the best teams possible. Of course, we know it would be unreasonable to ask people to drop their only character and then sit out of the RP until apps reopen, so we're going to try an ~experiment~

Essentially, we'd like to keep tabs on who's thinking about swapping out characters. If a lot of people want to, we'll open apps earlier. Comment to this post to let us know - comments are screened, and there's no pressure or obligation whatsoever. This is only to help us keep an eye on the numbers.

Thanks to everybody who played along in our little ~adventure~! For those of you who missed out, our intrepid explorers went out in search of lost appliances in the ruins of Aperture. They found it, and now that the power has been restored and GLaDOS knows where it is, she'll retrieve the machines.

I'll post with a functioning laundry room on day 10! Also, we have some new NPC journals! Atlas (

atlas_hugged) and P-Body (

pbody_awards), the co-op robots, are NPCs and can be played by anybody who needs them for a game or something. Let one of the mods know and we'll give you the password.

Also they found something unexpected: Dera's shiny new mod NPC, Cave Johnson!

... Which caused GLaDOS to desync everyone on the mission. They have received a new clone and a new uniform free of charge. You're welcome.

There was a lot of confusion because sometimes I forget that you actually have to describe things when you want other people to see the same thing that is in your mind!

ELEVATORS

+ There are elevators for each team (plus GLaDOS's) in the common room. They are round vacuum tubes, and the elevators move with air pressure rather than by any kind of suspension.
+ Each team has its own floor above the common room. So Alpha would be directly above, and Kappa would be ten floors up. GLaDOS's testing chamber is far, FAR above that. An elevator only goes directly to its designated floor and back to the common room.
+ The nanobots have added intercoms on each elevator for all your inter-team interaction needs

Apologies for all the confusion! Hopefully this should clear it up. There will be maps and diagrams sooner or later IT WILL HAPPEN EVENTUALLY!!

ALSO:

+ Mary Sue's breakroom still has no cameras. GLaDOS has pointed cameras AT it, but you can just close the door if you don't want her to see you.
+ We'll be adding in a couple new rooms soon

☢ There are now only seven slots left, excluding hobo spaces. We do still plan to close applications, but will be waiting until those slots are filled. Once closed, they will only be reopened as needed.

Staggering the posts as we get through a staggering number of apps! But the story thus far is:

☢ Some reorganization (loose stuff moved to the info page, uniform descriptions added in, actually have a link to the calendar in there now), and a reapp form added to the app page.

☢ We've accepted three new cores! Also there is a core guide up.

☢ DROPS:
Echo was transferred to the product testing portion of the facility.
Dr. Claire Saunders, Near, and Sion Astal have lost sync with their clones.

GLaDOS will help you out with those de-synced clones tonight; basically assume they just sort of flopped over. They're not dead or anything (still breathing, etc), but are completely unresponsive.

☢ IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT! When the game fills up, APPS WILL CLOSE. During the period while apps are closed, only reapps will be accepted. At the rate we've been going, this will most likely occur after next week's batch, so if you know somebody who wants to app, now would be a good time! Apps will reopen as necessary.

☢ Re: Core apps! The app has been modified slightly (there are more options for the writing sample now) and a sample app has been put up! We would love to see some new cores around the facility.

☢ By the way, Excel will be running a take-home test with the Mary Sue core this week, starting on Thursday 11:00 AM PST with submissions due by Saturday 11:00 AM PST.

☢ New placements, you should be able to make your own tags now!

☢ The purchase list is going to be modified soon, and now is the time to weigh in on the points system! Is it too pricy? Are the items weighted in appropriate ways?What are some items that you would OOCly like to see on it?

We have a few unorthodox placements this week, so just to explain:
☢ Sugata is taking up Gamma's hobo spot. Normally hobo slots will be reserved for reapps, but at this early stage in the game there's no harm in filling one prematurely for someone who both has canonmates on the team and has requested it as a preference.
☢ There was interest in a team that operated during moontime hours, and thus Iota was born! For this one team, players who are in an Australiasian time zone (or have a work schedule that makes your operating hours similar to one) get priority placement. If you are NOT moontime and wish to be on Iota, please make sure to say so!
☢ Takano has been accepted but not placed in the hopes that we can get some more villains and make a second EVIL TEAM. Takano will be placed next week regardless of who else apps!

Core apps are open! Because nothing will kill this RP faster than only having me to run the tests, haha.

I've pre-approved a few so if one of you guys you wanna run a mini-event for each of the teams tonight that would be faaabulous. I'm going to be out late tonight, but I might be able to put something up if not; I'll check in between classes. Rabi is quite excellent and may run a thing tonight, stay tuned!

Since just about everybody in the game is in American time zones (with the couple of exceptions being European, not moonland hours), I'm gonna run the first game on noon PST/3PM EST/8PM GMT this Saturday!

The calendar is here! I will add anybody who has apped a core as part of the acceptance so people can add their own events.

This is probably the last major update I'll do before the game opens:

☢ Clones 101. Thanks to everybody who asked questions and helped me figure out what to put in the guide!

☢ Aperture Robots. If you're thinking about apping a core, there's some basic information in there.

☢ Also relevant are some changes made to the apping section, regarding character appability in cases of death and ongoing canons (nothing anyone who has apped thus far has to worry about).

☢ We have 7 8 apps so far! Keep 'em coming!

APPS ARE NOW OPEN!

☢ I'll be taking them for most of the next week! Try and get them in by midnight on Friday the 27th (PST). If you squeak one in before I wake up on Saturday, I'll probably be nice and look at it anyway, but no promises!

☢ Apps will not be officially accepted until the 28th. In case of duplicates, the stronger app will be selected. Once your app is accepted, please wait until your team has been assigned and your team intro post has gone up before playing. The game will open on Sunday the 29th.

☢ I'll have world/location/map info (as well as brief descriptions of the sorts of things one can find in the laboratory to make the game more accessible to canon-blind players) up closer to the game opening.

☢ I'm sure a lot of you have questions about your characters' specific circumstances in going from a sparkling snowflake to an ordinary human (or human-ish) clone. I didn't put up a lot of guidelines on that subject specifically because I knew there'd be no way to cover all of the different scenarios, and I wanted to see what kinds of things would come up before writing up something more comprehensive. In other words, now is a good time to ask about that! COMMENT AND YE SHALL RECEIVE.

☢ ETA: ALSO BECAUSE I AM CLEARLY THE BIGGEST DERP IN THE WORLD! I am planning for this RP to last around 1-2 years (depending on pacing). There will be a plot with a beginning, middle, and end. :3c
